This blog describes Manny Gorman's successful round of all 219 Corbetts in 70 days, in one continuous journey by running, cycling and sailing.

Manny's 70 Day Schedule

The Corbetts are Scottish hills between 2,500 and 3,000ft, with at least 500ft ascent on all sides.

Day 21 – Fri 15th May – Glen Lochay

Despite the weather deteriorating back to the pish again for our hero & heroine, oor Manuel slam dunks another 5C day, consisting of Beinn nan Oighreag, Sron a Choire Cnapanaich, Meall Buidhe, Meall nan Subh, and Beinn nan Imirean. Has this guy never read the SMC handbook, it’s just not the done thing to do multiple Corbett days, 1’s and 2’s are the norm. Then again, Manny never was normal. By my very ‘simple’ arithmetic, that means the Gormanator has grabbed a full day back from the dropped ones – brilliant! Big Jethro of the Lennox variety, is planning on joining Manny for the start of the fourth week, so lets hope the weather ain’t S.H.I.T, and the boys put in another 5C day – Go for it guys!

After being out for a while with Manny yesterday and experienced the operation firsthand,we're even more in awe of how much focus & determination is being put into this project by both Manny & Brenda. Regardless of weather, driving conditions & road surfaces (potholes Brenda?)they just keep on going - keep it up folks! "By endurance you will conquer"

Having been out with them last weekend I would agree that it is hard to imagine the scale of this undertaking. If anyone following this blog is unsure what is involved try following yesterdays route on an ordnance survey map. I'm not sure of the exact route taken but it must have been about 30 miles in distance and near enough 10,000 feet of climbing. (a lot more if he jumped on his bike at the end of the day and headed for Tyndrum!

A fantastic effort over the last few days Manny, keep up the good work and we'll catch up with you at the end of next week.

Well done Manny and Brenda for making up an extra hill! How did it go today?
David Riach and I are currently recovering at the Craigard House Hotel, Campbelltown after taking a kicking sailing round the Mull of Kintyre this afternoon.
We left Jura at 8.30 this morning as first senior team in the Island Peaks Race, having done most of the Jura run in the dark. But we binned the race at Campbelltown in 50mph winds that made the idea of continuing to Arran an extremely unappealing option.

Flippin ek Chris, doing Jura in the dark ain't in my top 100 list of things to do before I die - well done to you and the snake, aka Riach. 50mph winds sounds just like what the Gormanator was getting a couple of weeks ago on the sail. When is this summer gonni start for real...??

Chris & Dave - gutted for you.
Would have been sweet to defend the title.
Mull of Kintyre, yeah, that's why we lost 2 days on Finlandia and had to do the Crinan Canal, but not allowed on the Island Peaks!
See you soon.

Many thanks to Joan & Colin Wilson for helping me & Brenda out throughout the day from the first to the last hill, including the epic bike ride out from the far reaches of Glen Lyon to allow me to dive over the last hill, Beinn Imirean in near darkness to meet Colin waiting patiently in his car!
thank you guys.
